STEELWOOD SHELVING SYSTEM is the refined bookshelf designed by the brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, exclusively for Magis. It comes from a project with highly innovative and technical content. STEELWOOD SHELVING SYSTEM is a bookshelf characterized by an elegant and comfortable design, which is to become even more beautiful in the course of time. The structure is a unique combination of three traditional materials: steel, wood and varnished MDF. The junction elements are made of varnished steel, the legs are made of natural beech, while the surface is made of varnished MDF. Its shape and its classical silhouette make STEELWOOD SHELVING SYSTEM a unique and refined piece of furniture and, at the same time, a bookshelf which is perfect for every kind of living and which can be inserted in different contexts. STEELWOOD SHELVING SYSTEM is available in different sizes, which consist of different modules and shelves. Shop Decor presents this bookshelf in the colour natural beech and white with 1 module and 2 shelves.

Ronan Bouroullec (born in 1971) and Erwan Bouroullec (born in 1976) are two brothers who have renovated the image of French design. Fundamental in their career was the meeting with Giulio Cappellini at the Salon du Meuble of Paris in 1997. That was the beginning of a speedy success, full of prizes, rewards and exhibitions. Fame arrived in 2000, when the Japanese stylist Issey Miyake commissioned them the organization of a famous store. In 2002 they were elected “Creators of the year” at the Salon du Meuble of Paris and absolute protagonists of an exhibition at the London Design Museum. Today Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec work with several companies, such as Vitra, Magis, Kvadrat, Kartell, Established and Sons, Ligne Roset, Axor, Issey Miyake and Cappellini. They cooperate for occasional architecture projecting, such as the “Floating House”, the Kvadrat showrooms in Stockholm and in Copenhagen, the Caper stores in Paris and in Copenhagen and the restaurant Dos Palilos, inside the hotel Casa Camper of Berlin. They received several awards: Designers of the year at the Salon du Meuble in Paris in 2002, the Grand Prix du Design in 1998, the New Designer Award at ICFF of New York in 1999, the Finn-Juhl Prize in Copenhagen in 2008 and two “Best of the Best” Red Dot Design Awards.
