Davide Groppi begins its activity in 1988 when he opened a little workshop in the historical centre of Piacenza, where he could dedicate himself to his biggest passion: the invention and production of lamps. Davide Groppi’s lamps are not born as simple lamps, but as ideas and concepts, as intuitions and projects, all coming from heart and mind. This is why Davide Groppi’s lamps are projects full of personality: they are never banal or already seen and are characterized by a simple and neat design that is never common. Davide Groppi’s long and deep experience in the field of illumination contributed to the creation of advanced and high-tech lamps, which are also incredible complements with a minimal design and little inventions exploiting all expressive potentialities of light. After collaborating with several design brands and important world-renowned chefs, Davide Groppi received various prizes for his works, such as the Edida prize for his Sampei lamp, won in 2011, the Design Plus Award won in 2014 for his Neuro lamp and the prestigious XXIII ADI Compasso d’Oro won in 2014 for two lamps, Nulla and Sampei.

Davide Groppi is an Italian designer who was born in 1963. His studio embraces a plurality of designers who contribute to making every single lamp an original, unique item. His career started in 1985, when Davide began to work as a mechanical designer, a job that would lead him to develop his passion for creating lamps a few years later. In 1994, then, the turning point: he sold for the first time 40 units of one of his creations and this was exhibited at the Furniture Fair in Milan. Since then, Davide Groppi, alongside his team, has continued with passion and mastery to realise products with a captivating design that add value to the spaces in which they are placed.
