Scab is an Italian company founded in 1957 by Francesco Battaglia, who is today its patron and manager. Thanks to its 55 years of history and experience, Scab has become more and more a leading brand in the field of garden and house furniture, either in national and international market. Scab is present on the Italian territory with four factories in the province of Brescia, where materials such as aluminum, steel, polypropylene and fabrics are transformed into high-quality products with several particular features. Every product made by Scab is resistant, functional, comfortable and has a contemporary design, derived from deep analysis of design, projecting, production and control. Its “know-how” gained through the time, the great experience and the taste of “Made in Italy” enable Scab to export all over the world a wide range of products, which are characterized by maximum functionality and contemporary design.

Born in 1959 in Rimini, Roberto Semprini studied Architecture in Florence. In 1987 he joined the Mivimento Bolidista, which expressed design from a symbolic point of view as a synthesis of a concept of electronic speed. Moved to Milan, he began cooperating as free-lance journalist for some design reviews, such as Modo, L'Atelier (Paris) e ARDI (Barcellona). In 1989 the sofa “Tatlin” by Edra began to be produced and it has been one of the winner products of the prestigious award TOP TEN in Düsseldorf. In 1994, with the coffee table “Manta” he was among the winners of the award Young&Design. His works are included in the permanent collection of the Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts in Canada and of the New Museum of Design of London. In 2000 he moved to Rimini, where he inaugurated the space “RM 12 art&design”, art gallery and studio of design and interior design. Since 2006 the studio realizes scene design with high impact, which is bound to the research of new private and public spaces in the cultural sectors of fairs such as the Sia of Rimini, the Fuori Salone of Milan and Abitare il Tempo in Verona, and the Sun of Rimini. In 2007 he was invited by Seoul Living Design fair (Korea) for the exhibition of “The Italian/Korean House”. He has cooperated with many design companies, such as Fiam, Moroso, Alivar, Rede, Guzzini, Edra, Ciacci, R.S.V.P., Arredaesse, Sicis, Slide, Trivellini, Contempo, Ciacci Kreaty, Larms, Spaus, Ad Hoc, M.B.,Gruppo Trend, Frighetto, Dilmos, Adrenalina, Morfeus, Mastella Design, Pedrali, Morelato, Scab, Valdichienti and so on… he has held some conferences and workshops in many faculties, such as at the Faculty of Architecture of Florence, at the Politecnico of Milan, at the Scuola Superiore di Progettazione of the University of Bologna, at the I.E.D. of Milan, at the I.A.V. of Orleans and at the Scuola Elisava of Barcelona and so on... Nowadays he his professor and coordinator of the course of Artistic Projecting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
